Neurofeedback

Frequently Asked Questions

  • All ages & needs!

  • ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities, mood challenges, mental health, trauma, sleep, chronic pain, emotional dysregulation, nervous system regulation, athletes, professionals or students seeking brain optimization, and so much more!

  • Generally used in 20-session blocks, typically, approximately 40 sessions are needed & sometimes more dependant on several factors (baseline nervous system regulation, age, severity of symptoms, consistency of sessions, other therapy, etc.)

  • Sessions are 50 minutes like standard counselling appointments. Training is typcially 30-40 minutes.

  • Tracking your symptoms accurately is key to Neurofeedback success because based on your reporting, frequencies and sensor placement will be adjusted to determine your optimal brain functioning protocols. Other than that, you just show up, we will discuss your symptoms, I will place the sensors on your head, you will watch a TV screen & relax!

  • Results accumulate gradually, some notice changes early on, others after several sessions.

  • Clinical practice reports often cite high improvement rates (~80–95%+).

  • Clients can expect long-term improvements after completed sessions.

Some clients do maintenance sessions as needed (during times of intense stress, life changes, periodic “tune-up”, etc.).

  • Neurofeedback is non-invasive and generally considered safe. It does NOT involve electrical currents, nothing is being put into the brain. Via EEG, the brain’s activities are simply being mirrored back to itself.

  • Side effects are not common but can include temporary fatigue (the brain is exercising!), mild headaches, or emotional shifts after sessions.
